South Shore Cultural Center Fall Family Portrait Session | Chicago Family Photographer

Bonfires, s’mores, little ones, and new traditions! I just adored this lifestyle family portrait session at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago. Holly, owner of Holly Day Photography, and I met years ago when we shared a cozy little studio space in Lacuna Lofts. Since then, we’ve stayed in touch and watched each other’s businesses and families grow and change.

When Holly suggested the idea of a fall family portrait session with a bonfire and roasting marshmallows with her four adorable boys and sweetheart husband, I was completely in. It was such a fun and unique idea for family photos, and the South Shore Cultural Center provided the perfect backdrop.

After a weekend full of rain, we ended up with beautiful weather and the kind of golden evening light photographers dream about. Sessions like this remind me why I love photographing families so much!

The South Shore Cultural Center is one of Chicago’s hidden gems for family photography, with its lakefront views, historic architecture, and wide open green spaces along Lake Michigan. It’s a beautiful location for fall family photos in Chicago, especially during golden hour.

Here are just a few of my favorite images from their bonfire family portrait session at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago.
